Shelter to  Pavaatkodichenai villagers [SEDEC Houseing ]

The ceremonial function    of  laying  foundation stone  for construction of 15 houses   by Caritas EHED  to families from the villages  of Katpakerni, Mavilankadychenai, Palankudiruppumadu, and Kannakipuram in the Pavatkodichenai  GS division of Manmunai West DS Division, Baticaloa District was held on 19.12.2011  attended by  Rev.Fr.Cryton Outschoorn, Director, and other Officials of Caritas EHED, Mr.Vilvaretnam, Divisional Secretary,  Mr.K.Subramaniam ,President , Pradesiya Saba, Mr.Retnathurai GSO,  President of RDS , villagers and beneficiaries of the housing Project.

These beneficiaries continually  affected very severely by the war are at present living in substandard shelters after their  houses were badly  damaged or destroyed during the war.

The Construction of these houses is being  financed by   the National  Centre, Caritas Sri Lanka (SEDEC). Each house  with floor area of  500 sq. fit with attached  Toilets  will cost Rs.510,000/-(Rs. Five hundred and ten thousand).
